Aileen Cheng and Ellyse Seodjasa are founders of Caeli Eco Luxe, a sustainable fashion brand of chic and timeless clothes for the modern woman’s essentials. It makes use of responsibly sourced materials and packaging, striving to revolutionize the industry through changing consumer behavior and building a community for slow fashion.Singapore is important for both founders. Aileen finds that it’s the best example of urbanization that enhances nature, with its commitment to sustainability. “It inspired me to do my part as an individual and as a business,” she says. Her fondest memories of Singapore are of her daughters growing up in a vibrant environment that encourages them to follow their dreams, transcend limitations, and overcome challenges.Similarly, Ellyse also appreciates Singapore as a creative city. “My favorite memory is that of the annual Singapore Youth Festival, where everyone pushes their creative boundaries,” she says.What inspires her the most are multiple forms of art, how artists cast their fears aside and dare to be different and unique.
