Coming from a design background, our patterns are a unique representation of nature in traditional and modern Asia. Techniques like shibori, clamping, blockprinting and tie dye are used to hand print each scarf. Behind every scarf, days are spent handcrafting each one of them, depending on technique and dyes used. Dyes used are mainly from organic waste like onion skin, pomegranate skin, and from lac, madder, myrobalan and natural indigo. These techniques ensure sustainability and reduce overall carbon footprint.
La Tierra makes these bespoke scarves in Singapore and India in order to bring customers the best quality of natural fibers and techniques, made from natural dyes or azo free dyes. Facemasks, home accents, custom made clothing and Singapore themed souvenirs are a part of the collection. With every purchase of our product, 20% of the sale helps basic necessities of migrant workers. Part of our proceeds help Child@Street11, a non-profit educational organisation that supports children from disadvantaged families in Singapore. We work with people from differently abled communities in Singapore and provide skills training.
